I wish we could just get a show of hands of who thinks the holocaust and preceding pogroms are greatly exaggerated or didn’t happen at all. I think that would clear up a lot of this.

Not observing rules of engagement is probably what got three of our F-15s shot down by friendly fire.

Yair was good enough to post a gift link on his X account. The tl;dr is that Bibi was all bark and no bite when it came to armed conflict with other countries. Talk big and carry a small stick.

This one really dramatizes how much exposure to certain subcultures on here and on Twitter can ruin the brain of a person who seemed interesting, funny, thoughtful, even admirable. I remember sharing her comics with people and having a great time. But these subcultures will rot you dead inside.

So far all of the US casualties that have been reported were caused by poor planning/communication.

Have yet to see someone post Bouie hate who doesn't also seriously overestimate their own intellect.

Pete Hegseth is too drunk and stupid to understand why he is being trotted out as press secretary to defend an illegal and unpopular war despite being cut out of any important decisions.

Say, for instance, we succeed in bombing Iran into a condition similar to the Huthis. How did we do with the Huthis and the Red Sea?

I'm working on a theory that the conservative mind has a qualitatively different concept of time than the rest of us. Chesterton's Fence for example presumes the fence was built during some unspecific "best of times".

Let me remind that in the run up to Iraq 2003, 'realist' scholars who opposed the war, some of whom had been regular oped contributors before, couldnt place in the NYT or WaPo at all, eventually paying to run an oped as an advertisement.

Pentagon offers no evidence to support claim it attacked Iran in defense The Trump administration’s effort to construct a case for war after shots started flying has few historical parallels.

A competent administration would have its VP’s chief of staff leak false intel to a NY Times reporter then go on the Sunday morning shows and cite the NY Times stories as reasons we need to go to war.
