Am I getting a lot done because…

A) I just started taking stronger ADHD meds πŸ’Š

B) I’m procrastinating because I should be writing ✍️

C) The SUN is out β˜€οΈ

It’s fun not knowing, I suppose βœŒπŸ»πŸ’™πŸ“š

Of course, after a period of not being sure what to work on, I now have THREE almost empty first drafts in my WIP folder πŸ˜… πŸ’™πŸ“š

So, I may be retiring my dystopian WIP for the foreseeable future

and writing a whole NEW dystopian, anti-hero WIP that’s been rattling around my head for about a year and is going to be fuelled by pure rage πŸ”₯

I have sold a grand total of two books this year.

Not this week, not this month, THIS YEAR.

I’m not trying to get sympathy or pity, I just think it’s sometimes helpful to share the bad as well as the good.

We’ll get there, friends βœŒπŸ»πŸ’™πŸ“š

I wish I could spend my afternoon writing but instead I’m making Instagram reels because GETTING PEOPLE TO READ MY BOOKS IS HARD, EVEN WHEN ALL THE REVIEWS ARE GREAT 😭😭😭

I’m kind of sad I didn’t do any writing on my day off, but spending it recovering from staying up late, catching up with housework and FINALLY sending some books to a few people feels like a good use of time, regardless πŸ‘πŸ»

Okay, I’m glad I stayed up to watch Bad Bunny.

Not only was that one hell of a show, but it felt like an act of joyful defiance.

Of resistance and love in the face of oppression.

Personally speaking, I think everyone should go buy one of my books since my birthday is next week. πŸ˜‰

But if they do not spark joy, a repost is groovy, too ✨

If AI β€œauthors” and β€œartists” are so proud of their use of plagiarism-bots, why do NONE of them label their work as AI-generated?

They all pretend they did it themselves because they *know* audiences hate it and *know* they will be judged for it.

Keep rejecting AI and support humans πŸ’™πŸ“š

I am… actually writing????

I’ve scrapped my dystopian WIP, taking the world and the characters and starting the story in a different place.

It feels good to feel the urge to write again, and here’s hoping I can get out some of my political rage πŸ’™πŸ“š

A screenshot of an email that reads:

Thank you for contacting me about President Donald Trump.

The United States is our most important ally, and I believe our ties to the US go beyond the political. The friendship between our two peoples and countries are profound and deep-rooted, manifesting in millions of interactions each and every day – from nearly Β£300 million in trade and co-operation of defence and security, to shared cultural values and a commitment to prosperity and freedom.

Regardless of who is occupying the senior administration and political roles on both sides of the Atlantic, it is vital that the relationship is nurtured, with a united approach taken on key issues as much as possible and differences addressed in a responsible and measured way.

It is my firm belief that it is in our national interest to have a strong and productive relationship with the United States. Indeed, in today’s dangerous and unstable world, our friendship with the United States matters more than ever. From standing up to Putin’s aggression to tackling the threats posed by China and Iran, it is crucial that we continue to work closely with the US.

I must add that, while I find it difficult to reconcile the clear position of the US on China with the UK Prime Minister’s attempts to befriend China, I will continue to call for the UK to work closely with the US on this, and I will keep the UK Government’s approach to our shared interests and priorities with the US under close scrutiny.

Together, the UK and the US have been a force for good in the world, and I hope the Government will take the necessary steps to strengthen our partnership for years to come.

Thank you again for taking the time to contact me.

I contacted my Tory MP (Graham Stuart) about condemning Trump for his actions regarding Venezuela and Greenland, and this was his response.

It seems the Conservative Party’s position is that they will continue to support the US no matter who is in charge or what they’re doing.

Would it be INSANE to open a novel with a prison break? πŸ‘€

I had an epiphany in the shower (of course) that what I’ve been editing might actually be a bad prequel to a much better story.

I mean… what have I got to lose? πŸ’™πŸ“šπŸ‘€

Sorry I’ve been so quiet here lately.

The last couple of weeks have been a lot, and for some reason my phone doesn’t show me notifications from BlueSky, so it means I accidentally ignore people πŸ™ˆπŸ™ˆ

I’m still here πŸ’™
