This is not unlike the theater of the mind vs maps & minis argument. IMO it’s not about need, it’s about what supports different players best. For some with ADHD, memory issues, and aphantasia, VTT features like automation and visuals reduce barriers and make online play more accessible, not less.

In WFRP news, my halfling Giffer has somehow ended up with the Hammer of Sigmar and is currently debating whether to use it to pay off his gambling debts to Foxy Shortbottom or save the world like his companions insist. He’s weighing his options carefully. 😅

There’s not an easy answer. Most of the tension seems to come from expecting consumers to act like patrons and creators to be fluent in marketing/sales. “I need to keep the lights on” goes both ways, and the push and pull between creative worth and practicality is part of an ever shifting landscape.

Day four of completely reorganizing the garage is done and everything is beginning to hurt and stiffen. So many donations boxed up, so much lifting & carrying. Maybe two more days of this to go. On the plus side, new shelves for the RPG books built & everything transferred, but will organize later.😰
