I want a society in which people's basic needs are being met. I want a government that prioritizes making sure that people's basic needs are met.

But when your basic needs are being met, you're able to look beyond yourself. You're able to consider the needs of others.

Empathy, compassion and kindness. These aren't weaknesses. These are hallmarks of an advanced society.

When you're fighting every day to just survive, fear and cruelty reign. Fear and cruelty mean eating and not being eaten.

Brown people being covertly snatched off the street, quickly transfered to detention centers in TX and LA, being held for an indeterminate amount of time without being charged with a crime and without access to the courts or legal representation. FAR too many Americans are perfectly okay with this.

I want a government that is Just, Honorable, and Helpful.

Just: equitable and impartial; balancing conflicting interests for the greater good

Honorable: honest and trustworthy; having integrity and behaving respectfully

Helpful: kind and compassionate; elevating the quality of life for everyone

Regardless where on the political spectrum you fall, this is cause for concern.

The Constitution applies to all PERSONS. It is not reserved only for citizens or folks in this country legally. Unless specifically stated, citizenship and legal status do not provide additional constitutional protections.

If THEY have no right to due process under the Constitution, neither do YOU.

Trump has condemned all violence except violence that reflects his grievances, his vengefulness, and his hate. Anyone who speaks out against or attempts to thwart behavior which supports the goals and ambitions of the Trump regime will be arrested, defamed, and subjected to rendition.

When a Judge stops the President from doing something unconstitutional or illegal, that isn't "a threat to democracy," that is democracy at work.

The President's job is to protect the people, unite the country, and make equality a reality for all. Instead, Trump spent the evening spewing hate speech, dehumanizing our communities, supporting violent policies and weaponizing victims' grief.

Trump's speech part 3:

The problems we ALL want solved are still there: high costs of living, inaccessible bealthcare, inequitable education, and more.

Instead of meeting the needs of their constituents, Republicans spent the evening chanting "fight, fight, fight" across the aisle.

President Trump's address in one word: VIOLENCE

* Erasing trans people is violence
* Cutting healthcare for families, the disabled, and veterans is violence

I find the listening experience associated with any Trump speech to be extremely taxing.
