The shooting happened around 12:50 a.m. on Saturday next to the Church Square Shopping Center. This is the second homicide investigation in Baltimore's Gay Street neighborhood for the month of February. A store clerk was killed during a robbery gone wrong just two blocks away.

A crime lab for the incident was requested at 4:31 a.m. I wondered about that time gap. Turns out the county police knew about the shooting-at incident long before city police knew about it. Even the ambulance that transported the officer to a hospital came from the county side.

Let's say that "shortly before 3:30 a.m." time frame is accurate. OK. City police were unaware of the incident until around 3:55 a.m., though. At that point, they were informed that "a trooper got shot." That was later corrected to a "shooting at."

The crime lab technician found a few overlooked cartridge casings, which meant police had to expand the crime scene. One car got through and the lab tech stopped it right before it could cause real damage.

This shooting happened over 90 minutes ago. I got here a little after midnight, banged on the window of a patrol car, and said, "Hey, I don't think you have a lab coming. You might want to check on that."

Police have shut down the intersection of Reisterstown Road and Oakmont Avenue after someone was injured by gunfire.

Man, it has been a super long road. Almost two years! I still have to be mindful of what I eat, but at least I can eat real food again and even go to a few restaurants.
