It’s better not to take headlines at face value these days. There is no one party dominating and several closely grouped together. Even if GW’s party nominally has the most votes it doesn’t mean they have “won” anything and it’s likely their vote share will be down a lot than the last election.

33. The History of Sound - despite a few pacing issues, this beautiful exploration of the profound impact music can have on the soul is the film that has touched me more than any other this festival, underpinned by two sensitive and vulnerable performances by Mescal & O'Connor. 9/10. #LFF #filmsky

31. Two Prosecutors - when a young and naive prosecutor takes it upon himself to try and challenge injustice in Stalin-era USSR, you know from the off that this isn’t going to end well for him, but the journey to the bleak ending is absolutely compelling. 9/10. #LFF #filmsky

30. The Ice Tower - evocative, unsettling and visually spectacular, this blurs fantasy and reality in such a way as to make you feel at the end rather like you are waking up from a disturbingly vivid dream. 8/10. #LFF #filmsky

29. H is for Hawk - skilfully blends an exploration of depression with an appreciation for the natural world. Foy is very solid here but it’s the Hawk that is the real star. Runs a little out of steam towards the end. 8/10. #LFF #filmsky
