I make all these covers myself in Canva (now also with some Krita) and I know it's very obvious but also I'd rather do them in crayon before touching AI

i was thinking about this just today. My romantasy isn't selling poorly in this ROMANTASY BOOM because it's a bad book, it isn't selling well because what is marketing and how does it work

Frank's smile is as cutting as his stare and he certainly has his share of secrets but Cordelia can't seem to avoid him. Especially when she's just agreed to let him stay in her home.

Is he the mystery letter writer? Is it a coincidence? Or is there something more sinister afoot?

Is it an insult or a threat? Who can say?

What is clear though, is that Frank Thornhill, childhood friend of Cordelia's deceased husband, is uncommonly attractive. And he hates her. Returning after years abroad, Frank drifts into town without a word of explanation just in time for the funeral

There are whispers of course but polite society being polite it's easy enough to ignore the insinuations. The stares. The comments that she's a lucky woman to be so rich & so unattached after such an uninspiring upbringing.

It's just talk.

Until a letter arrives, slipped in with the daily mail.

What about instead of that movie we got Cordelia, eccentric society oddity, recently widowed by a tragic and unusual accident.

Mostly something either romance or fantasy with heavy romance side plotting/subtext where there's also quality snarky banter. Not necessarily enemies to lovers but I just really want to read good bickering

Brb, mentally rewriting that entire movie into something better that actually uses their weird romantic chemistry and the smutty historical vibes of the poster

When y'all buy from indie authors, it impacts us profoundly. Especially if it goes outside the circle of authors trading a few dollars back and forth amongst ourselves.

All in all, they should totally have reshot the entire movie to match what people thought the poster was about because they almost had chemistry but it was absolutely wasted by the very on the nose psychological drama

Character: You've stabbed me. I'm bleeding. I need help.

Other character: Let's get you cleaned up (turns on shower)

Really impressive how they've managed to make a thriller(?) without an ounce of dramatic tension

They're just delivering all these lines in such a very bland monotone that makes it truly hilarious

We have finally reached the scene that they used for That Poster and somehow neither of them look like they did on the poster? Even tho it was obviously the exact shot

So far the movie poster said one thing.

The cover art says a second thing.

The back of the box says a third thing.

And the actual movie so far is an unrelated fourth thing?

And now they've killed the cat for no reason. She doesn't even seem overly upset so what was the point in this?

You know, if they wanted to do the twins thing they REALLY should have gotten a body double for more of these scenes so she wasn't so obviously talking stiltedly to an empty room

We're half an hour in and I don't think I've seen the guy from the poster yet?

Wish me luck. I have acquired that Cordelia movie (you know, the one with the misleading poster where it looked like a sexy period piece) from the library

I honestly have no idea what this movie is supposed to be about for real

I can tell I still have a migraine or whatever this is because I keep having to read every damn thing three times just to have any hope of comprehending it
