Consoles have been architecturally identical to PC since 2013. Except Nintendo, which stuck with PowerPC (also used in Macs from 1995-2005) for the Wii U, and is now using ARM for the Switch 1 and 2.

Because compared to the alternatives, it's not that expensive.

A decent gaming PC = $1,000+

I did manage to get Debian 2.2 from 2000 to work in an emulator. Anything older I couldn't figure out how to properly install.

Figured I'd let the dialogue stay for these ones

I've experimented with them before, mainly out of curiosity to see how they do and... they kinda suck. It can't seem to get personalities right at all, and it keeps forgetting stuff like "where the characters are" and "what are they wearing"

Game Freak is relatively small studio, and they aren't working on individual games for long.

Assume GF has 80 devs working for $5k a month for 24 months, you've spent $9.6M in salaries. (not sure of the exact size of the Z-A dev team or how long it was in development for)
