Silent Witch finishes off the Summer Season with a bang. Funny the whole way through with some solid heartwarming moments mixed in. The moments it tries to go for tears don't really work for me, but other than that, no complaints.

I talk about the Tigers for literally the first time on this account saying they're playing like shit and they immediately start beating up on Cleveland. Maybe I should have started complaining earlier.

Yeah, but when Javy's the best player on the team aside from Skubal, you're in trouble.

I mean, Guards won the division with a -6 run diff and Tigers blew a 15.5 game division lead to let them do it, so I think the question answers itself. I've watched most Tigers games this year and we've been trash since the All Star Break. Once the bats dried up, Skubal alone kept us in the race.

Binged Hanako S2 Part 2. The story keeps getting better with this show as it has time to flesh out its initially cartoony cast, but it ends on a rough cliffhanger. I get that that's how it is in the manga, but then S2 should have been Part 1 only and then S3 could be 24 eps and cover this whole arc.

I wanted to like CITY, I really did. But it just wasn't very funny. "But it's not meant to be a comedy", you might say. But if that's the case, then what the fuck is it? It's a very pretty show, sure, but that's where it starts and ends for me. It's a work of art that I simply don't resonate with.

I literally could not have wished for a better outcome to the GB/DAL game. Neither team won AND it's a Scorigami? Perfect.

Ruri Rocks is a great show, but falls just short of being perfect for me. It can get a bit too formulaic in its episode structure, and the need to escalate the big reveals at the end of the episode make some of the later ones feel unrealistic. Other than that, I really enjoyed it.

There are Uma Musume ads behind home plate at the Mets game and I feel like I’m having a stroke.

There were a lot of good shows this season, but Fragrant Flower takes the crown for my AotS. It's the best pure romance I've seen in a long time. Lovable and believable characters and an overall feel-good story made for 13 episodes of pure, unbridled happiness, and sometimes that's all you need.

Busu ni Hanataba wo was probably the worst show I finished this season. Lack of romantic chemistry, drama entirely driven by a failure to communicate, a largely unlikeable MC with an overly negative personality, and one very annoying side character made it a frustrating watch more often than not.

Really enjoyed this Dr. Stone season. It was pretty much more of the same, but there's nothing wrong with that. The Suika mini-arc at the end was really good, though.

Binged Dan da Dan S2 over the last few days. As a series, it's unapologetically stupid and bizarre, and I appreciate that about it. Action anime are never going to be a 10/10 for me just because it's not my favorite genre, but it's very enjoyable for what it is.

I was debating whether to include Shield Hero in this thread because I'm embarrassed to admit I've watched 4 seasons of it. I got through Season 2, and Seasons 3 and 4 weren't as bad, so I stuck with it. It's a turn your brain off kind of series, but isn't offensively bad enough for me to drop it.

Okay so that was a slight lie. Still had two Mementos to get and three Relics. And I had to turn in the Hunter's Journal Quest for the Achievement. NOW I'm done with Silksong.

Really not sure what to make of Turkey. The show is full of so much random bullshit & tonal whiplash, but that's kinda what makes it fun? Ultimately, I think it did what it set out to do in an enjoyable way, but what it set out to do is so batshit insane that I can't really figure out what I think.

Just finished my Silksong playthrough. Got the last ending with 100% completion and a completed Hunter's Journal, so I think I'm done with the game for now. Might do a speedrun playthrough eventually, but not right now. Steel Soul playthrough is not happening, I'm not masochistic enough for that.

The other extremely gay show of the season was also pretty good, but I don't think it's going to stick in my mind for very long. Aside from being one of, if not the first lesbian harem anime, there's not a lot that sets it apart from its straight counterparts.

Bad Girl was a fun blend of stupid and gay without ever getting too far into triggering my second-hand embarassment like I worried it might at the start. Definitely the funniest show I watched this season, but there wasn't really a whole lot of competetion.

Dress Up Darling S2 was good, but the fact that there was essentially no significant development of the main relationship the entire season was frustrating. More of the same isn't bad, but I wish the status quo had changed even just a little bit.

Betrothed to my Sister's Ex is another solid Cinderella story. This genre is a guilty pleasure of mine, and this is definitely one of the better examples. The will they/won't they went on for a bit too long, but otherwise I don't have any complaints (other than the weird green glow around MC's hair)

Summer Anime season's starting to wrap up and that means the media thread is going to start getting spammed. First one done is Call of the Night. Great show, fantastic vibes, but beyond that, I have surprisingly little to say about it.

Dam been writing a book about this and she just TikToked it in 90 seconds.

Finished the story of Silksong, so it's on the list now. 80% complete overall. Absolutely phenomenal game, and it's gonna be tough for any 2D Metroidvania to ever surpass it, especially when it comes to sheer scope.
