Daher, with its TBM and Kodiak offerings, would satisfy my flight requirements, well maybe add an aerobatic bird to the mix just for fun. We spent a great long weekend up at the wilderness airfield, Moose Creek (1U1), with the Recreational Aviation Foundation (TheRAF) helping to rebuild outhouses and fences after extreme winds and a fire ravaged the field.

I remember back in the days, going in before an inaugural flight to plan and plot landing procedures , most of which revolved around NDBs and a lot of blessing 😄

We used to carry snow suits and survival gear where the rear 3 seats were on the SV10 and all crew had survival training. Seems funny nowadays.

I see you were a Boeing guy. Me too, though only the 747, 100 thru 400, oh and the SVC10.

Sometimes a photo just hits the right spot at the right time. I’d travelled 8 hours to get an air to air of this beautiful WACO, but the rain came and I had to take a ground shot. It worked and made the cover of Flying Magazine.

Oh do, they really are great aircraft and still going strong!

Of all the old birds in the sky the DC3 is my favorite. My wife is the envy of many of our pilot friends, she has a DC3 rating, it beats a 747 rating every day.

The beauty of my aviation photography job is that I get to travel to the most amazing places. Here up in the mountains of Montana with its stunning scenery.

I’d flown in the DA42 as a pax but frankly considered it uncomfortable in the back with limited leg room and I’m barely 5’10”. The DA62 however boasts enough room for me to almost lie flat while using it as a photo platform (not ideal shooting through Perspex but we do what we need to) #avgeeks
