Iโ€™ll have to keep an eye out! Big fan of clever minimalist covers like that.

Iโ€™ve not read it, but that cover is really well designed.

It is. I think I saw recently that the average household has an average of 15 booksโ€ฆ ๐Ÿ˜ณ

All the more reason to get more. ๐Ÿคฃ

How many physical books do you own?

#BookSky ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ“š #BookCollection

I recently logged all of mine in a spreadsheet (yes, Iโ€™m that kind of person), and I was underwhelmed with how few I actually had. I was expecting to be approaching 1k, but Iโ€™ve only got 659 and counting.

A truly terrifying combination.

Haha! Yeah, corporate spiel is the worst. It was painfully accurate to the way a big corporation would try to spin it.

Hahaha! Yeah, thatโ€™ll get โ€˜em. ๐Ÿคฃ

Plush was really good (I know that sounds weird given the subject matter, but still), probably one of my favourites.

Oh yeah, if they arenโ€™t attached via a cable, I am 100% losing them within a week. I keep seeing ads for Heavys, and I have to say, Iโ€™m tempted. Lol.

Hmmmโ€ฆ I may need to invest in some noise cancelling ones. Iโ€™m still relying on a basic pair of in ear ones from three phones ago. Lol.

Iโ€™d like to give a shoutout to @tlbodine.bsky.social

These Kids Are Not Alright is a great collection of short stories. Some are fun, some are creepy, and some are downright difficult to read (for a father of a three year old).

Yeah, I think itโ€™s the same for a lot of somewhat new tech. I can see how amazing it could be for certain demographics, but it will almost certainly be used and exploited for profit instead. Bleak times ahead, I fear.

17.09.2025 19:26 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Same. The design studio I work in can get noisy, and I canโ€™t even begin to concentrate without headphones.

But when Iโ€™m writing at home, Iโ€™ll just put something on the tv. Maybe I should try using headphones, even at home. Haha.

I think AI on its own is pretty harmless (itโ€™s just a glorified chain of โ€œifโ€ statements), however, humanityโ€™s belligerent want to use it, even when itโ€™s to our own detriment, will be our inevitable downfall.

So far Iโ€™ve mainly relied on more atmospheric horror; darkness, and the danger of the unknown, as well as internalised body horror.

Videogame soundtracks are also great. Also a fan of the hours-long fireplace videos Netflix put out a while back.

I donโ€™t have anything published, but Iโ€™m working on the outlines for a series of short stories where the overarching theme is *exactly* that. ๐Ÿ‘€

I end up bopping away, unable to concentrate. Lol. Which is weird, as I listen to music all the time while working and it doesnโ€™t have the same effect. ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ

Absolutely, itโ€™s just annoying that so many ambient sound videos on YouTube are ai slop.

Itโ€™s amazing how well it works at shutting out the outside world.

Hey all! ๐Ÿ‘‹

Iโ€™m Stephen, and I write body and psychological horror.

Not really tech, but as someone who is easily distracted, I have to be sitting in a quiet room, listening to an ambient soundtrack in order to write for a decent chunk of time.

The 8 key from a keyboard, loose, found in the tumble dryer.

Iโ€™ve often thought about starting up a throwaway account just to list all the random crap I pull out of the washing machine / tumble dryer.

Today I was reminded again, finding an 8.

We donโ€™t have any keyboards missing keysโ€ฆ
