This is the last book in a string of stuff I had under contract over the past two years. It's weird not having a publication to look forward to now (I mean apart from the four different novels I'm still trying to sell to publishers, but those don't count yet).

Feels like we're moving away from some old assumptions about how sff works.

I really enjoyed that episode. It feels like there's more discussion of style in the air at the moment - at least two relevant panels at World Fantasy last year, when I've previously seen almost nothing.

Today's writing features capitalism, fire, and post-growth economics. I guess that's a little story arc in itself.
