These are issues that deserve conversation. There are no easy answers, which is why there’s a political divide around them.

This doesn’t apply to willful lies and propaganda. That’s a crazy short term issue that we have to deal with. This Hot Take applies to:

When does life get rights?
What’s the balance between taking care of people and demanding individual responsibility? Issues that have existed for decades.

Politically charged issues with millions of people on each side of the debate are always complicated issues without an easy answer.

Shutting down the opposition keeps us from learning and hinders progress.

Letting someone go is always tough, especially if you've been working with them for a long time. I feel for you, even if you're making the right call.

Meaning it's hard to stay quite when someone posts something about the games I've designed or the content I've created. Silience is often the best response.

Good lesson for me. It's a hard one to learn.

Seeing a comment on TikTok reminded me that people seemed to have forgotten that interacting with someone’s content doesn’t mean you’re entitled to a response.

And it goes the other way too, you’re not required to interact with someone just cause they interact with your content.

Understandable. I don’t hold it up as an ideal, but emotionally it makes total sense to me.

Board Game BBQ is a class act. I’ve been very impressed over the years with how focused they are on their community.

Honestly, I don’t think so. It might feel good, but labeling a person as evil is a simplistic way to ignore the complexities of life. It also turns you into the thing you’re fighting against; someone that has lost empathy for a subset of society.
