I interviewed 102-year-old Lois Rufus of Fountain Valley today, asking her for her secrets to a long life.
She didn't skip a beat.
"Keep breathing in and out," she said. "Once you stop breathing, it's over."
There are only 9 people signed up to speak at tonightβs Huntington Beach City Council meeting.
Mayor Pat Burns gives everyone the full 3 minutes. Some members of the crowd applaud.
βDonβt make me regret it,β Burns says.
Any Republic users in Huntington Beach or Fountain Valley willing to chat with me for a story on the resumption of trash services? Please lmk or DM me.

Just talked to Huntington Beach resident Chris Kluwe @chriswarcraft.bsky.social and can confirm he's planning to run for the state Assembly District 72 seat next year.
Gracey Van Der Mark threw her hat in the ring for the seat last month.
That's what I call a spicy race.
Huntington Beach resident Wendy Rincon addresses the City Council tonight.
Agenda item 16 states that the city will not repeat Brown Act violation actions alleged by the ALCU, on Rinconβs behalf, from the May 22 meeting.
A prayer vigil is scheduled for 5:30 pm tonight in Huntington Beach, at the amphitheater in Central Park.
