Every time I hear it, I can feel a dagger go through my heart. Every time I hear it, my brain just becomes flooded with yet another thing trans people aren't allowed to do. Every time I hear it, I feel how public sentiment on trans rights is slipping away. 5/6

I feel so mad and tired and betrayed. These are all things that I've heard cis people say. Cis people that self-reportedly (but don't actually) support trans rights. 4/6

They said, "I support trans rights, but I think it's unfair that they get insurance for gender affirming care."

They said, "I support trans rights, but I don't think it's a big deal to say that trans people are mentally ill."

Earnest post, but: a thing I like here is it’s okay to have moments of happiness in public without being broadly scolded, and I believe that sustaining this kind of humanity will be very important as we resist fascism.

We have to sustain each other. Making joy isn’t denial, it’s how we will survive

6/6 The 4th point and "may also impact trans adults" afe just my own take. This EO just happened today, so I'm wondering what orgs (like ACLU) say after they analyze this. It's not 100% clear to me as of now

5/6 While the EO is specific about taking away funding specifically for trans youth, the language clearly suggests that GAC is not seen as a valid healthcare path in general. So, for trans adults that get gender affirming care, it'd be important to keep an eye on the impact of this EO and future EOs
