Tim Grady For Governor of Ohio

Casually building up my list of ragebait policies of the cycle for me to take the unpopular but fundamentally right position on. So far I've got:

* Don't abolish the property tax.
* Data centers are actually good for Ohio.

What else are you all mad about?

What you can see happening online tonight with the Democrats is an outrage bidding war over ending the shutdown. That's what social media does to our politics, it rewards outrage and condemnation, not problem solving.

It's empty fodder for a hypocritical power struggle.

There's no reason for Trump to be fighting in court so hard to block SNAP benefits for millions of Americans. He should allow the USDA to distribute SNAP benefits as previously court ordered.

Letting 1.45 million Ohioans go hungry is a choice our politicians actively made.

I'm asking Democratic voters, I'm asking Republicans voters, please stop being so actively hateful and racist toward Vivek. What's wrong with all of you? Let's have one good election.

Pillory anyone's ideas you want. But don't lose your soul.

Politicians will try anything except actually building more houses and apartments.

From Tuesday, I like canvassing at rural polling locations because these little American flags you see at polling locations are actually there to mark the line where one is allowed to campaign. As the only person who ever canvassed here, this little flag is just for me!

A cat joined me while I was doing election day petitioning. I think it was distracting the voters too much though.

Voted! Not much at all to vote for but voted anyway!

Election day! Local elections matter (which is why it's terrible they're often uncontested). Go vote!

Even if all your races are uncontested, vote and show your support (or contempt with a blank vote) for candidates. Democracy needs participation. Polls open till 7:30!

Petitioned at the Cuyahoga county board of elections yesterday. Petitioned at the Franklin county BOE today. As one does.

I support Toronto over LA in solidarity with our future Great Lakes Economic Federation partner, one of the most natural new states in a post-civil war era. And for a lot of other reasons.

Gerrymandering is a 2-party proposition. Give voters a real choice and it all falls apart.

Ohio lawmakers vote down proposal to cover federal SNAP lapse with state funds Ohio lawmakers on Wednesday contemplated authorizing the state to pay for food stamps and other federal subsidies before federal funding lapses on Nov. 1, though ultimately nothing was done.

Ohio Republican legislators have voted down all attempts to cover SNAP benefits for 1.4 million Ohioans. They CAN protect food access. They are choosing not to.

All politics DOES NOT have to be national. Ignore Congressional fights. Protect Ohioans.

Whatever this new Ohio Congressional map looks like, let's start screwing up the partisan lean as soon as they're official. Time to run some real independents around here!

This is a start. Contact your legislators. "It's difficult" isn't an excuse for Ohio to do nothing and let 1.4 million Ohioans go hungry. We can find a way. Pressure them. Ohio can do something so it must do something.

The concentration of power in any hands, is a bad and dangerous thing. We must be as wary of the power of corporate giants as we are of run-away government. And doubly concerned when the interests of government and business are in alignment.

Our campaign has collected over 1,000 signatures toward independent ballot access. With over 6 months to the filling deadline, we're confident Ohio will have an independent candidate for governor for the first time in decades.

And we're building to win!

Probably underreported that Shawn Fain, the UAW president, is aiming to organize essentially a general strike for May, 2028, and is also looking at (and polling) a Rustbelt new political party.

If politicians don't think they can lose an election, then they aren't accountable. None of our elections are competitive in Ohio.

To make politicians care about the voters, we have to make sure they can lose. Independents can win. That's why we're running.

Democracy is worth fighting for. Freedom is worth fighting for. America is worth fighting for.

There are many people who will defend the corrupt and corrupters alike based on the belief that "it gets results".

Those attitudes will doom us. Zero tolerance. Corruption is killing America. We'll end it.

The Democratic party is not fertile ground for different voices in Ohio. Want to do good and spread your message? Give me a call Fred!

The 21st century requires some fundamental rethinking. Including rethinking employment, healthcare, the economy, and the city.

Don't be afraid to think differently. It's what the moment demands.

Discovering it is still extremely difficult to campaign on nuance and complexity.
