The Mayor’s salary is more than fine. I think it’s a pretty convincing argument that you need to pay cops less, not more to the Mayor.

Diane Keaton was such a singular talent because you could say she gave the greatest comedic performance by an American actress (Annie Hall) and you’d be right. And you could say she gave the greatest dramatic performance by an American actress (Reds) and you’d also be right.

Great stuff, great cast but Hepburn is immense in it.

Was a bit confused about the season but knew to hold off judgment until the ending, so it was incredibly rewarding to see all the pieces fully fall into place (satisfyingly and not!) in that final hour. Good season.

I for one am actually quite pleased seeing Mike White doing the thing where he allows himself to dig deeper into the Mike White-ness of it all the longer and bigger his show gets.

Surprised I’m not hearing more about it since it’s such a delightful watch!

It’s odd. I don’t see a scenario where she makes the finale (she *was* easily worst in show, even if it had been Lexi in the bottom) but it’s odd how much the episode seemed focused on tearing down one of the strongest contestants apart

It's not the first time I hear about White being "difficult" but de Veers comes across so so sooo much worse here? As if the attention the theme song got really got in his head.

I also hadn't realized how little he works. And how risk adverse he is. 11 movies in the past 15 years. Only once in the last 23 years where he wasn't top billed. And the last genuine risk he took being The Beach!

Not feeling it, and sadly think Leo is a big part of it. Has he lost his spark? Has he gotten too comfortable in a type of role and acting? I genuinely loved him for most of last decade but haven't been sold on him since Wolf of Wall Street, which was coincidentally, his best.

Went to see Black Bag and omg a real movie! For adults! In cinemas! In spring! What a time to be alive! And to think Soderbergh probably made it in two days and a half. What a blessing

A few years ago decided to do a proper deep dive into his filmography since it felt I didn’t hear much outside of the two biggies and was so surprised at how stacked it was and how wild it is that it’s not brought up more often with Tarantino, Mann or other of his contemporaries.

The gasp I let out when I felt that way all season only to find out That One is 27!

This category had been in a real rut over the past two decades with a lazy focus in real life roles and prosthetics (we’re still not completely safe). So it’s refreshing to see not only the marked improvement but an honestly great run here with 3 fantastic choices and a pretty decent one!

Find it very telling how for better or worse, the Anora team thanked and mentioned the sex worker community (more than once!) but the Emilia Pérez team didn’t for the Mexican or (especially) queer and trans communities.

There was extra attention paid to some of the crafts categories and I for one thought that was a lovely touch to the ceremony. More of that in years to come!
