Belated #LetterboxdFriday #LastFourWatched. Good variety ahead of my usual frantic attempt to watch the Oscar-nominated films I missed as they hit streaming 😛

If they only ever see surface level soccer news, they would have no perception of him as anything other than a hero. Sigh.

I just get so tired of being blindsided by this sh*t. It's bad enough those men aren't in jail and are allowed to continue their lucrative sports careers.

I know I sound like a broken record, but this remains true: ⚽ media does not have to & *should not* do free PR for alleged rapists & domestic abusers. Report on them factually when they score a goal or make a transfer, fine—it's a necessary evil until we're rid of them. But promo content? Come on.

Exactly, it's sad that something we all love so much has become so thoroughly tainted.
If it were a normal situation, I would have been bending over backward to go see Germany play in the WC, but I can't justify it!

I don’t understand how anyone could be excited about the World Cup at this point.

No shade on anyone who did go, I just used up all my remaining patriotism on Alysa Liu and Amber Glenn and I have nothing left to give!

It helps that I know more of the players these days.

I could have gone to the She Believes Cup doubleheader today, but I’m glad I didn’t end up getting a ticket. I would not have felt like rooting for a team wearing the 🇺🇸 flag.

Maybe they’re saving it for mid-international break to tide us over lol.

And no, it doesn’t help that Spurs have been woeful, but I don’t even feel like tuning into neutral matches like I used to.

I resent the Premier League for letting it get to the point where I have to read the phrase “meat wall” on my Bluesky timeline multiple times a matchday.

Also, it’s a strange turn of events when I’ve derived more enjoyment out of the first two weeks of MLS than I have out of the entire PL season.

Richarlison is the only player out there who's been in a proper relegation battle. He knows what it takes.

thinking about the players and staff of Iran’s women’s national team who woke up in Australia today to the news that their homeland had been bombed. how anyone can focus on sport in the midst of these horrors is beyond me. they play their first game tomorrow.

The US/Israeli illegal attack on Iran should be understood to be a clear violation of the Olympic Truce (much as Russia’s invasion of Ukraine was which led to its suspension by the IOC) and result in bans for 2028 and the stripping of those Games from LA.

Penalty Prowess Spurs Women put in a penalty masterclass to progress to the FA Cup quarter-finals, while Spurs Men failed to gain a new-manager bounce in the NLD.

Sad to be saying goodbye to our collective emotional support Women's team for the long intl. break, but at least they gave us some awesome moments to remember in the meantime. The Men's London derby gauntlet continues tomorrow.

Not surprised it’s come to this. If the league is serious about launching a D1 league, it needs to realize it can’t possibly complete for viewership w/ MLS at the current professional standards. It’s apples to oranges at this point. I love my USL club & want this league to succeed. Pay the players.
