Interesting that these predictions have Botafogo finishing 2nd in the group when they will top the group with a draw. Given how Atlético will have to be more open if they want to go through seems like Botafogo could sit back and hit on the counter and a draw/win seems more likely to me.

There were two games today in the Campeonato Nacional in Cabo Verde. Sanjoanenses defeated Scorpion Vermelho 2-1 while Académica da Praia dealt another loss to Botafogo with the game finishing 1-0. No change to the Golden Boot table but the win moves Académica above Mindelense who play tomorrow.

Palmeira's win over Ultramarina puts them top of the Campeonato Nacional table and Walter Furtado's brace pushes him to the top of the Golden Boot race.

Walter Furtado is #10 for Palmeira, apologies for not having that off the bat.

Palmeira #10 gets his second of the game to put Palmeira up 3-0 in the 92' just before full time is called. That solidifies Palmeira's place at the top of the table and Ultramarina drops down to 7th due to goal difference.

It was 0-0 for the first hour and Palmeira have quickly changed the tide of the game and buried two quick goals. This result will see them top of the table on 7 points.

I don’t know that there’s a team that attacks like Ange’s teams. Mindelense, Scorpion Vermelho, Paulense, Sal-Rei, and Ultramarina all play in red so you might avoid them due to association.

Boavista & Botafogo play in b & w, Académica in pure black, Sanjoanense in blue, and Palmeira in green

Mindelense might have the best attack but they have historically been one of the best teams and better resources than other clubs. You might think of them as the Real Madrid of Cabo Verde.

Boavista are also pretty strong and are the current holders.

Fernando Lima, the president of ARFSSA, the regional association governing football on the south and western regions of the island of Santo Antão, has stated that he will not run for another term and will leave the position in July. ARFSSA is hosting the semis and final of the Taça Cabo Verde.

Just as we did for the Campeonato Nacional we've started tracking the Golden Boot for the Taça Cabo Verde. CS Mindelense dominate the list, not surprising given the extra game they played and the emphatic scoreline of 4-0 and 3-0. We are still attempting to get pictures for the players.

Update on the Taça Cabo Verde, the national cup competition, as the FCF announced that the semifinal games will be played on May 28th with the winners progressing to the final on May 31st. All games will be played at the Estádio Municipal do Porto Novo on the island of Santo Antão.
