After living in Winnipeg and working for the City at the start of covid, compared to living in a rural environment, not long after covid reached it's height, I agree. A lot less people per capita contracted covid here because retail shopping is limited, and the only sports complex was closed.

Every guy I dated, except one. He is a tough dude.

Well honestly, there may be a genetic component, but it's possible that a life of pain makes one tougher. It is, after all, just pain.
(Of course when I destroyed 2 cervical nerves, tore a rotator cuff, then broke a rib and developed a frozen shoulder, I learned my limit and was grateful for meds. πŸ€ͺ

Haha thanks, I'm doing okay. I have the pain threshold of a mule, and I keep very fit, within my bubble. A good kind of shrinking. πŸ’ͺI love my flowers AND the rain. Bring it on!

Viruses are smarter than us. The earth is overcrowded with so much global activity. As soon as these little guys figure out how to combine the virulence of SARS- CoV-1 with the transmission of SARS-CoV-2/ Covid 19, we are cooked. Suddenly...glad to be a boomer.

The cushion is for my spine but is 4" thick. My thighs barely squeeze under the wheel. 🀣 I was 5'3 but I'm supposed to be 5'6. Scoliosis. And now I am 5'1 from multiple fractures and a rare form of osteo. Without weight training I lose another inch. And I likely have, thanks to the damn shoulder.

I would be looking through the steering wheel of a Buick! 🀣 Standards were cheaper in price and on fuel. I'll say one thing for my truck--when I moved, I did several trips towing a trailer and the last load was way over weight. Did 90 in 5th. No prob.

Lol! I hear ya. The dealership actually called me, asking if I wanted to upgrade to a Tacoma they had in stock--it was loaded, but a stick, and they couldn't get rid of it. I've only had one automatic and it was a right hand drive. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

She sounds wonderful. I'm a complete rock when it comes to my mental health, despite what Winnipeg was doing to it. Moving to a small town in 2021 was the best decision I've ever made. But...no NPs nearby. I've never had proper care for the conditions I was born with, I research. A lot.

You're a better person than me. I almost decked a pimply-faced intake kid at my former dealership, when he called me, "ma'am" and was sooo condescending, like my Tacoma 6-speed 4x4 Off-Road TRD was my husband's truck. I almost decked him. I'm single for a good reason. 🀣

Oh, I would love to have one. I feel they are more holistic, somehow. My doc just zeros in on one issue, not understanding underlying conditions that can cause that issue. Luckily (?) I'm going through my second frozen shoulder in 10 years, and he's leaving me to it with meds. πŸ˜‚

I took a couple of courses on genetics and anatomy in Arts before settling on a degree in plant science. My interest continues because my body...wow. I wouldn't wish this mess on anyone. Lol. I'm in a small town, now...so I do my own research. My doc is clueless.

Yes it is interesting, but unfortunately, the varying reactions, some small percentage of those being severe, enables those wearing tinfoil caps.

Yeah it was Pfizer that knocked me out the first time. I didn't make the connection until a friend asked me if I got the shot. I was in the throes of garage renos, so I dragged my sorry self to the work.

I'm just going to go with avoiding humanity. Covid shots kick my ass, too. I don't know if it's my Mastocytosis that does it, but...ugh.

They are fairly common in Manitoba but yes, this is by far the most red I've ever seen in 60 years.

Yes...my father was a gentle soul, and he didn't talk much about the North Atlantic. I made him this collage from restored photos, and found this model, that he spent hours glueing together, 35 years ago. Those ships were something else..

My daddy served on Corvettes, mainly HMSC Sherbrooke. I learned so much about them, thanks to the internet.

I believe you are correct and I remember the city being abuzz. Those were the days...I remember being so happy to be back home.

Well, based on what you peeps have said, I will watch it when it's streaming for free, not on Disney. The whole idea is escapism and to just go with it, along with a huge bowl of very unhealthy popcorn. 🍿

I was moving into my first house after briefly losing my mind and trying a new life in NWON. I think I could hear the music drifting into the West End.

We pay tariffs? Oh, we pay, not from tariffs but from complete and utter betrayal. It will make us stronger, ultimately.
