Honestly, it's mostly laziness.

All we did in PE, outside of 1 month of swimming, was weightlifting. I was told I would be dead before I was 25 because I couldn't life 100lbs. I weighed 70lbs. At the end of the year they told us to run a mile. I was told this class wasn't a waste of my time.

We're not paying him to be creepy and inappropriate. If he's got time to do this, maybe he should do something more productive with it.

Just a fact that popped into my head when I saw people in relatively insulated areas snark about people in MN right now. Pops up when I see legislation to end anti-segregation laws in schools. Or when I see those "whites only" communities popping up. Hm.

So people who weren't close to the targeted population(s) - those for whom this could all be an abstract concept - didn't care and could (and did) ignore it. But when the targeted populations were their neighbors, they're healthcare professionals, their grocers, etc., they weren't going to take it.

If I see one more person make a post saying "I'm against a data center being built in my community, and here is the research I did on them using ChatGPT" I might actually explode. It will be an awful mess. And I'm not cleaning that.

I don't know about the ethics, but I'm 39 and people in their 20's look like babies to me. I'll see them on a college campus and I'm thinking "hey there kiddo, did you get separated from your parental figure?" So if you look at them and think that, it may not work out?
