I've been looking into e-writers for taking notes and journalling. The best option still seems to be a pencil and paper. I want to spend some money though, so I'll be looking for a strategic pencil sharpener that collects the shavings.

Did you thank you have problems? All these guys do is sell books, and they can’t even work out if they’re cool or hot?

Methinks the lady doth protest too much.

Actually I’m a Brit and have no idea who she is or what the context is.

This month my HP Instant Ink account resulted in me paying 9p a sheet for ink. It might work for some people, but for me it is just proving very expensive. I love the printer itself, but I hate the frequent software changes and the opaque way HP work.

I signed up to attend a Conspiracy Theorists' conference once. But my credentials got lost in the post. Coincidence?

For evil to triumph it is only necessary that good people do nothing.

I’m a good person. So far today I’ve done nothing.

Sorry about that.

A Socialist reads the Hobbit Part 6 – Goblin Town Goblin Town mirrors the chaotic Victorian Birmingham of Tolkien's youth—a dark maze where inhabitants love machines and inventive cleverness but create only weapons and torture devices. The bow-legged, squint-eyed goblins resemble rickets-ridden factory workers who rarely saw sunlight. Their rhythmic songs echo industrial machinery.

In Tolkien's universe elvish swords glow with magic blue light when goblins are nearby.

I can't help thinking it would have been better if they had bluetooth.

Is there evidence that this is a problem? Molecules are very small and there are lots of them - so if your detector is sensitive enough you are going to find what you’re looking for.

We are heading into a world of mass surveillance. I should probably start deleting the evidence of how I used to dress in the seventies.

I thought they needed a pretext as well. I’ve been waiting for a Reichstag fire moment. But apparently not.

Why do I support the state helping the disadvantaged including people from abroad? It’s not the usual reason. I just feel if we weren’t doing that we’d think of something stupid and damaging to do with the resources instead.

TERRORISM EXPERT HERE:

This statement is a clear example of what is known as “State Terrorism”: When the dictatorship will order all instruments of its state security & intelligence apparatus against its own citizens to terrorize the population.

Bread and Circuses were in place were in place under the Roman Republic and continued throughout the empire right until the end. Maybe they are worth looking into? Everyone likes free stuff.
