Darkwood II getting picked up by @hoodedhorse.bsky.social and @icepicklodge.bsky.social feels like a dream. Perfect combo to take the reigns and my favorite gaming news of the year.

Alright, just got home from a weekend trip, both a golden retriever and cat asleep between my legs, drinking wine and rereading/annotating Night Film while listening to a playlist called Dark Ambient Noir. What a mood.

This year, I'm grateful for the immense amount of progress I've made on myself, especially strengthening my ability to welcome failure, discomfort, and imperfection. It's been grueling and emotional work, but absolutely necessary.

I NEED this

So this past summer I launched a Kickstarter for a special edition and a companion ARG for backers that ended in a micro-video game. I'm repackaging and expanding the ARG and game right now for a broader audience and damn, this thing is so cool. I can't believe I made it.

Hey so “underage girls” are…children. The word you’re looking for is children. They’re not like, women-in-waiting or women-lite or whatever. They’re children. I think some of you are very uncomfortable with what that means for you but it is still true.

Today is a good day to remember, and to say, that the #MeToo movement was right, and was righteous, and has been vindicated over and over again. There was no overreach. There was no excess. There was no they-went-too-far.

So much work remains to be done.

I love novels. I will always love novels. But the recent storytelling innovation in games has awoken something in me that I'll need 8 vats of coffee and a substack to emotionally process.

Goddamn. Blue Prince has tapped into every universal pleasure integral to my being. I am overwhelmed. I am inspired. I need more experiences like this, please, dear God.
