In our science.org/doi/10.1126/... we describe the hitherto overlooked erythroblast expression of CXCR4, which do not migrate in response to CXCR4 ligation by CXCL12. Instead, in these cells CXCR4 localises to the nucleus and mediates alternative cell responses in maturation and triggers enucleation
24.06.2025 13:03 โ ๐ 4 ๐ 2 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Are you looking for a postdoc?
I will be looking for 2-4 people after the summer to join the lab !!
Do not hesitate to reach out and disseminate !!
Not all chemokine signaling is about cell migration!
In mouse erythroblasts, CXCL12-bound CXCR4 enters the nucleus to control gene transcription, trigger calcium bursts, and drive red blood cell formationโespecially enucleation.

18.06.2025 19:41 โ ๐ 14 ๐ 5 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Lysosomes play a central role in regulating ECM homeostasis by influencing intracellular and extracellular molecular turnover and degradation through their biogenesis, localization, and acidification. Lysosomal biogenesis coordinates ECM homeostasis by regulating the release of ECM-degrading enzymes, promoting autolysosome-mediated degradation, and modulating lysosomal trafficking pathways. This process affects the degradation, recycling, and assembly of ECM components. Lysosomes are equipped with motor proteins, including dynein-dynactin complexes, kinesins, and small GTPases, which facilitate their trafficking along microtubules. Lysosomal acidification is essential for the breakdown and recycling of ECM components internalized by endocytosis and exocytosis, ensuring proper ECM turnover and homeostasis.
New discoveries are reshaping how scientists understand the molecular connections between the extracellular matrix and lysosomesโand the resulting implications for research and therapeutics for neurodegenerative disorders.
