We are not defined by Dear Colleague letters. The fabric of who we are is not changed by budget cuts and lived identities do not suddenly disappear with banned terms. The work gets harder and that's what they want - but we have to continue to be there for each other. I value you, I appreciate you.

South Dakota committee wants to require Native American history in public schools A set of OSEU standards are already in place across the state but the standards aren’t required and OSEU classes are an optional elective.

Watching debate on SB 196 - Oceti Sakowin Essential Understandings incorporation in public school curriculum - when the bill was first read, Oceti Sakowin was completely mispronounced. That is the heart of the issue - South Dakota does not know us.
