I hate when TV/movies use psychiatrists as therapists, no LCSW, LMFT, PsyDs, etc. It's too inaccurate for me. Rarely have any psychiatrists Ive worked with in 10yrs did therapy at all, it's mostly med management. Reality is most therapists are not psychiatrists though some do some therapy but rarely

Sometimes it's so hard to work with non-yt students who've internalized yt-supremacy, patriarchy, & capitalism then are also self-hating. 😕

I'm a university therapist, we don't have enough time to unpack all that. 😞

I challenged a client today to reflect & feel her feels as well as exploring & honoring her values & boundaries. They didnt wanna do it at first & I explained the exercise & how it can break a pattern that has impacted relationships/kept them superficial.

She told me I was good at what I do.🥰
