Warner Bros. Discovery calls 2025 a "reset year" for gaming. According to Variety, the company plans to return to its biggest franchises in 2027-2028. That timeline could line up with whatever Rocksteady is working on next, possibly even Batman Arkham.

LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight recreates the iconic Gotham museum takeover from Batman 1989, with The Joker turning it into his own twisted art gallery. The whole scene is reimagined in LEGO form and set to Prince's "Partyman", just like in the original film.

With more confirmations coming in about what happened at Meta and it becoming clear that VR gaming is no longer a priority for them, it feels right to acknowledge Camouflaj and the talented people who worked there.

I'm hearing some really disheartening news that Camouflaj, the studio behind Batman: Arkham Shadow, may have been completely laid off, including Ryan Payton and Matt Walker, despite reports saying otherwise.
Heartbreaking news if true. This team poured everything into that game.

Meta shuts down Armature Studio, Sanzaru Games, and Twisted Pixel as it continues scaling back VR game development. Camouflaj, the studio behind Batman: Arkham Shadow, is safe for now, but with Meta shifting focus to smart glasses, the long term outlook for first party VR games remains unclear.

Early footage and dev materials from Project Apollo, the canceled Nolanverse Batman game by Monolith Productions (2009–2010), have surfaced online, shared by MrTalida on BlueSky.

The material includes early gameplay tests, adaptive audio systems, character work, and Tumbler Batmobile footage.

One year ago today, Batman: Arkham Shadow released, the latest chapter in the Arkham saga. Made with real care and passion by Camouflaj, it may be a VR exclusive, but it brought heart, atmosphere, and meaningful lore that earned it a place in the series.

A sequel to Batman: Arkham Shadow might be in development. Mark Rolston (Gordon) said "we're about to start another one". Camouflaj confirmed they're busy with their next project, while Roger Craig Smith avoided giving a direct answer about new Batman work.

Rocksteady Studios has found their new Game Director, Bill Money. He worked on Assassin's Creed Mirage, Valhalla, Origins, & was Design Director on Arkham Origins. The role was tied to 3rd-person action, melee combat, & open-world traversal - all hallmarks of the Arkham trilogy.
