Most of this demand growth lives in buildings. Yet the people inside them have almost no visibility into the impact. You cannot manage what communities cannot see.

Zoning is the foundation, but the real question is what infrastructure comes after. How do these new centers and corridors connect residents to each other, to environmental outcomes, and to the health of the neighborhoods they live in? The physical plan matters. The living systems matter more.

"Sustainable buildings" is not the finish line. It is the starting point.
The real shift is from buildings that perform to communities that care, for people and the planet.
That is the infrastructure we are building.

What I am curious about: when EVs hit that scale, does our built world infrastructure keep pace? Charging networks, grid capacity, battery recycling systems. The cars are ready. The question is whether the surrounding systems are being co-built at the same velocity.

Solid analysis.

Love seeing systems thinking applied to policy. 140+ stakeholders means real community input, not top-down mandates. The built world needs more tools co-built this way. Infrastructure that serves families starts with listening.

This is what happens when we see the built world as connected systems, not isolated assets.

Waste becomes community resource. The shift to collective infrastructure is where real change happens.

People live in buildings, but not in communities.
