A Kindle page over the top with highlights reads: I cannot say what I thought the khe'rar khen would look like, but nothing had prepared me for the reality of them. Through the entrance, they came. Tall, majestic, and horrifying. Faces so pale the skin was translucent, and one could clearly see the dark, wide-set eyes with alien pupils. Their faces were featureless, except for the eyes and the long, twisting tentacles that writhed where a mouth should have been. They dressed all in long black robes as void of features as their faces; their shapeless forms seemed to float or writhe beneath the fabric. The beasts they rode as mounts were large, grey, and scaled with wicked teeth and a complete lack of eyes. They were powerful and even Tcharielle shrank away from them as they swept into the room like a fog.

Time to post about my book again.

Fragmented, yet flawless

Writing is wild. Sometimes you have a very specific idea for a scene. I.E.—bathing scene in a river with potential for spice.

And then the characters are like, “Wait, you mean epic fight with Eldrich monsters in the camp a mile back instead?”

I mean, I guess that’s fine 🤷 #author

I was doom scrolling and sped past this, but the One and Done cover caught my eye enough to make me come back. I will be adding this to my wishlist!! It looks fantastic

Refused to give him the satisfac-tion, even if these were my final moments. Open the cage, the voice pleaded. Let me out! The fog was too much. I couldn't wade through the wild storm of pain to find the beast, to free it. Dreg'hyl clenched a fist around my wrist and yanked me up until my toes barely scraped the ground and my shoulder burned.

I’m a sucker for characters who have inner demons…literally.

So I wrote it.

Time was frozen around us as he remained over me like a statue. I had instinctively braced my hands against his chest, and my fingers felt warm against the lines of his muscles. Beneath the thin linen of his tunic, I could feel his heart pounding and the oddly steady rhythm of his breaths. My own pulse echoed the thunder I felt under his skin.

I wiped the palm of my hand against the front of my trousers to clean them of sweat but also to verify that the little mechanical cockroach was still there from this morning. It was, and its tiny presence comforted me. Here goes nothing, I thought to myself and flipped the switch.

Five star review on good reads for figure you out Nov 21, 2024- Figure You Out is about Cassiopeia and Talien. Two individuals that have been insanely close with each other and had feelings for the other since high school. But when Cass had to flee her hometown, Tal stayed behind. When she has to come back to town years later; they both are forced to come to terms with their feelings, what was left behind, and what stands now. I honestly had to wait a whole day after finishing this book to write this review because... wow. This is so full of SUCH great quotes, romance, slow burn, hidden love, and so much more. I literally was sitting reading and wanting to scream at the characters "JUST TALK TO EACH OTHER" which always has me invested and reading so fast I can barely keep up. This was a book I would read in one sitting and still read again in a month because I miss the characters and want to see it all unfold again. So if you're debating reading this novel, PLEASE DO SO!
