Yes!! Art shouldn’t be limiting. It is crazy how many people are against editing film, especially Polaroids!

Learning to edit photographs will make you a better artist. Although I love film so much, I also appreciate digital, which made me a better film photographer. I obsessed over digital photography. I spent years taking courses online, practicing on editing. And because of my, my art is better.

There are people that get scans back from the lab and leave it at that, but you are letting the lab decide how your final image looks. That’s fine if you want to stop at that, but your image isn’t pure, it isn’t better.

In the darkroom, you edit photos. When you scan, you are editing. Some people feel that a Polaroid is the final product, I feel that it’s just the start.

I edit my Polaroids. Some of them I barely touch and others I edit more. Editing film, especially Polaroids, is controversial because there are film “purists.” I’m an artist and if I can make my art better, why shouldn’t I?
