Wishful thinking

I know so many great people who are doing so much. If you are isolated from people who are trying their best, I can understand feeling like no one's doing anything, but really, you just need to find the people who are trying and try with them — or maybe encourage some new folks to try alongside you.

Decades of disenfranchisement, the demonization of protest, especially amongst the youth, and the over bearing nature of capitalism keeps a lot of folks out of the fight. Do you expect folks to hold 2 jobs and be activists?

Those who do fight are ignored by the very narrative you are pushing here.

If a subway fare is $3.25, that's 308 million missing fares in a year or 843 thousand fares a day. Combined bus and subway ridership in 2024 is said to be 3.7 million. 843K missing fares is about 22%. That seems high.

Also bring back the commuter tax. Our city is full of cars and pollution from people who don't live here and don't even pay city taxes.
