I think it was calculated for this specific date prior to Trump’s inauguration. It’s also why it was moved inside. They’re worried about Mario & Luigi. They think removing the app and then “gifting” it back to us will illicit praise and dissuade civil unrest.

It won’t. Quite the opposite.

Just so we’re clear, Trump started the legislation to ban TikTok when he was in office, but it didn’t get through the senate or house until Biden’s presidency—Biden signed it into law—then SCOTUS upheld that law.

Trump gets to slide into office to “save” what he, in the first place, sought to ban.
