Sure, I teach middle school math in the Houston area. Congratulations on your retirement, 36 years as a teacher is impressive.

You still need to be certified in Texas to be the teacher of record. If you aren’t trained as an educator the alt certification programs are supposed to prepare you. They provide relevant coursework and require a year in the classroom with frequent observations. Whether this is best is debatable.

Thank you for speaking out. I’m afraid it would be more accurate to say that Trump should not be above the law, but by the look of things he very much is.

Maybe, but some—possibly significant—portion of the people you’re counting on turning against Trump, will instead turn their anger and resentment toward a scapegoat.

I agree that it is useful. I wouldn't find it useful as a daily practice though. If I felt I had to, then I hope I would also remember to make time every day to acknowledge my progress.

As a teacher I have no idea what should be done. I do know teachers are struggling, and where it's bad, it is worse than anything you're prepared for.
