I can write MF, but it doesn't keep my interest. I burned out about 4-5 years ago, and decided when I came back that I'm only going to write what I want to read and characters I want to spend that much time with. Might mean fewer readers in the short term... or might not! Too soon to tell.

It's funny because there's something intrinsically gay about Trek. I've never put my finger on it, but I don't think it's a big secret. You won't find a 90s gay without a Seven of Nine quote in their pocket. You won't find a gaggle of gerds without an ongoing Trek debate. They need to lean into it.

The thing about Star Trek is that is at its best when some people are trying to make it gay and other people are SO mad about that, and my theory about SNW’s problems is that no one is fighting Paramount to make it gayer.

Same conversation came up with my partner. He asked why I decided to write gay fiction now, given the state of things. I hadn't really thought about it. I told him I quit writing because I didn't see myself in my stories. If I'm going to write, it's gotta be gay. And not writing doesn't work for me.

Love Disney, but Universal is my fave. Gotta give props to Dollywood, too. Coasters+mountains=next level thrills.

My WIP is set in Orlando, so coasters are living in my brain! Need to ride! 🤪

I have these merman Christmas ornaments that are almost too sexy for the tree, so I'll take one or two life-size versions. 🤣

Reading very little these days. I don't like to read when I'm in the middle of a first draft. I lose focus. I have been learning to like audio at the gym, though! So I'm catching up.

Disney sounds so fun. I'm a theme park junkie. Going to Kings Island Pride Night in Sept. Not Disney level, but fun.

Honestly, the Postcards movie and book are different enough that I think you could watch the movie and read the book later. Or not at all! I do think the movie holds together much better.

Silence of the Lambs is a big favorite of mine. I'm also fond of Fried Green Tomatoes, although the straight-washing was disappointing. My favorite ex. of a film that exceeds the book is Postcards From The Edge. Fisher kept the core of the story, but rewrote everything around it, and it worked!
