Trump & Hegseth are an active threat to the US and to the world.
They repeatedly show their disrespect for law.
People are dying daily at their whims.
A response that does not aim to address the core problems is inadequate.

Absolutely unhinged remarks from SecDef.
We're on the 5th day of this unconstitutional war. Still no stated objectives, still no rationale.
And the response from D leadership is to call for a vote that still hasn't happened, that restates existing law, and that Trump will veto (if it passes).
Most telling part of this rant: That the war will go on until "we decide it is over," not until the aims of the war are achieved - because there are no stated aims; and Trump prefers having none, so any result will allow him to try to claim a "win."

It is possible - not necessarily likely, but possible - that the GOP's efforts at aggressive gerrymandering combined with the massive nation-wide blue shift combines to make a few seats unexpectedly flippable.
The nationwide shift would have to be large.... but, so far, it's been gigantic.
Unfit.

So, in launching a huge bombing campaign on Iran they apparently didn't plan for:
- Who takes over;
- Interceptor shortages from sustained drone retaliation;
- How to defend US bases in the region;
- Threats to ships in the Strait of Hormuz; and
- How to evacuate Americans with airspace closed.
Congrats to Vanna Howard for her win!!

Nationally - residents of North Carolina & Texas have huge headline primaries today!
But don't forget about Arkansas, which also has primaries today!
Go vote!
It's election day!
MA residents of Lowell, Dracut, Dunstable, and Pepperell - go vote for *Vanna Howard* for State Senate!
There is also a State House primary in Gloucester, Rockport, Essex, and Manchester-by-the-sea. The D (Andrew Tarr) is uncontested, but the GOP primary is contested there!
President Trump did not have the legal right to start this war.
The response shouldn't be "wait a week and vote on war powers he already doesn't have."
The response should be immediate removal.
It underscores why Democrats need to be assertive in trying to shape the narrative.
Crime was objectively down under Biden vs Trump.
But crime voters overwhelmingly chose Trump over Harris.
We can't just count on people to notice our successes/GOP failures.
I think it is absolutely scandalous that in just one year of an HHS under the leadership RFK.Jr the US has lost its Measles elimination status and is now on track to do same for perinatally acquired Hepatitis B. These are huge public health wins that took years to accomplish.

However, that also means I'm more dependent on small-dollar donations from people like you.
If you're able to help out, every little bit goes a long way in helping to keep this campaign going.

And, since both my opponents take corporate PAC money, it's going to stay that way.
An excellent thread from one of our Courage Candidates Alex Rikleen @rikleen.bsky.social on why impeachment is the correct remedy for this illegal war (and the rest of it, too).

This is false.
I have described it as a genocide. None of my opponents have.
I do not usually discuss that particular topic on bluesky/twitter, as I believe the format of these mediums are ill-suited for the topic and discussions of it here/there frequently degenerate quickly.
Even in their messaging about a war powers vote on Iran, they reveal both their expectations that it will fail, and that their primary goal is getting Republicans on the record.
But a failed war powers vote won't stop Trump in Iran, or from more warmongering elsewhere.
This is what Permanent Election-Brain looks like, and how it hurts us.
Establishment Democrats think about everything with a next-election-mindset.
They expect failure, and instead of using that as freedom to do what's just, they do what they *think* is best for the next election.
And repeated unconstitutional acts of war (Trump's 3rd in 14 months!) is *exactly* the kind of situation that impeachment was added to the constitution to prevent against.
It is Congress' duty to impeach.
www.welcometohellworld.com/the-logical-...
For a war powers resolution that opposes the President to have teeth, it needs enough support to override a veto.
That is a higher bar than the amount of support needed to impeach.
Calling for a war powers vote makes no sense legally, it makes no sense mathematically, and it underplays the severity of this moment.
Trump already doesn't have the legal authority to conduct this war.
As Democrats are saying in their speeches/videos!

American service-members are dying in Trump's unconstitutional war for no discernible reason.
100+ Iranian children killed in a school with our tax dollars.
And this weekend I heard multiple D Congresspeople say the response they wanted was a doomed show-vote to get Rs on the record re: war powers.
war is not a get out of oversight and consequences button

Unless those Americans oppose Trump or Trump's policies.
Then, we will protect the murders.
They don't have a middle game.

This has become a recurring refrain on the right recently:
Killing people, blowing stuff up, using force to remove the head of state - somehow not "war".
This denial of reality is classic cult of personality stuff.
There's a lot bad going on, but bad stuff in the real world doesn't change the rules of the internet.
Fortunately, this internet rule is designed to spread joy. I gladly follow it.
We must fix the Court, we must fix campaign finance, we must safeguard elections.
In order to solve all the many problems facing us, we have to start with the structures blocking progress.
We need major legislation to protect our climate.
But consider:
If we passed the environmental protections we need tomorrow, would the Supreme Court let the law stand?
Would Corporations & Billionaires spend untold sums to elect candidates who'd undermine the new law?
We need structural reform.
