Yup, this was my take-away too. I know you don't have to do most of the bloaty stuff, but it gives you this cool progress-bar that makes you FEEL like you gotta! And you end up missing a lot of areas if you don't. A textbook example of less is more.

Pro tip: give an earnest shot to things people on the internet say are trash! Their metrics are not your metrics, you might vibe with it!

The reason I bring this up is because I recently finished a game with a phenominal soundtrack, and ONE track (one of the best), wasn't on the soundtrack. Can't find it anywhere now, except in the game. It's happened many times, and its getting on my nerves! Work out your licenses, ya dumb-dumbs!

And that is absolutely baffling to me! If a song is a fundamental part of the art, then the license needs to include soundtrack releases, or the soundtrack no longer fully represents the art. Letting that happen in the first place is completely unacceptable.

Well like I said, it shouldn't be included in the game, then.

Dear every game developer ever: when releasing your soundtracks, INCLUDE EVERY SONG! There exist no reality in which excluding a track or two because of licensing or whatever is an okay thing to do. If you don't have permission to distrubute a track with the rest, it should not be in the game!

Ahh Fuji, how I miss thee. I was fortunate enough to see it up close in Fujinomiya. Definitely one of the highlights of the trip.

Good on you for giving turning 30 the emphasis it deserves! I just kinda let mine go by, no special event or anything. Made up for it a little when turning 35 though.

First game of the year beaten: Dungeons of Hinterberg. Old-school Zelda meets Persona meets hack n Slash. Really charming graphic style and likable characters, though some of the later dungeons did overstay their welcome.
