A lot of times when it seems that kids are unsure about themselves, it’s mostly because they are trying to fit what their parents’ expectations, not an inability to understand who they are.

Why is it in quotes that a kid knows who they are? Most kids are pretty damn self-aware, even with immaturity, especially if they are old enough to tell you how they identify and who they are attracted to. No one questions straight kids or cisgender kids.

They are justifying this war based on things that happened before I, a 38 year old man, was born.

A core problem in the body politic is that Republicans will only dare to be honest about how they feel about what they are seeing from the administration when they are retiring and no longer relevant to their party.

Yep. I discuss things sometimes made by bad people and bad institutions. Then we(students, people) discuss. It's literally my job.

No, it wouldn't. The platforming is beside the point, the why and for what purpose is what's important, and I use my platform to discuss these things. If someone reads his article, fine. The bigger point is what's the point of the article and the work then.

Also, one of the bigger issues, is a lot of academics are going to have to personally reconcile WHY they do this work and what they are trying to accomplish. Not to sounds like my late Southern Black, baby-boomer mother, but is mediocrity all you want to accomplish?

don’t think it’s discussed, that the foundations of research disciplines isn’t already readily available through the internet. You do have to dig, especially when you aren’t using someone else’s dataset.

Especially considering WHO is building these AI programs. 🙃

How I see it is AI will exacerbate bad and underdeveloped theory and conclusions, especially of marginalized groups. You can’t AI your way into understanding and properly researching Black politics, for example. What you can do is come up with harebrained ideas and potentially harmful conclusions.

That was in my head but I was too exhausted to say it.

I appreciate how sincere they are in thinking this would hit so, so hard. 😂
