I donno I think Requiem was super smart with how it split up it's gameplay styles between the two playable characters and further plays into the fans' viewpoint of RE older protags vs. newer protags.

Jill, Chris, Leon, Claire, these are all ppl we have seen overcome RE situations time and time again. They are action heroes at this point they are Die Hard: Zombie/Biohazard edition. Ethan and Grace are literally not asking for any of this and clearly in over their heads.

What I like about this trend RE is doing is newer characters have the more intimate, intense, scarier survival horror aspects of the gameplay while the veteran characters get more 3rd person shooter style and I personally think that works really well!
