This weekend I impulsively went to a book binding workshop. I learned so much about book anatomy and enjoyed the process to the extent that all I’m thinking about today is going home to try my hand at binding books with printed content.

They probably mistakenly thought I was a goth teen. 😂

Don’t get me wrong, I do like NIN. But no other band reminds me more of back office IT guys. Like dudes who would uncomfortably ogle me and who loved wearing polo shirts with embroidered defunct dot com logos and external keys at the turn of the century.

I feel the same way about flying in any sort of plane. I started to get my sport pilot license in 2016 but ran out of both time and cash. It’s not a budget friendly hobby.

Hiss grr yuk. Same. I’ve learned that I have to write business requirements for app teams to include quality logging and standards are all over the place, which is annoying when you want to see outliers.

We had very strict enterprise logging standards/policies so generally the stuff that went into Splunk was moderately joyous to begin with. I realise I completely took for granted at the time. Oof.

We were starting to use Elastic for intrusion detection at the place I was at before the fruit place. That was several years ago, so I can only assume their solution has matured. We used Splunk and took the aforementioned ‘ship everything into a lake via firehouse’ approach.

Right?! What an inspiration. But by all means keep scrubbing traces of those riffraff career woman astronauts and scientists from NASA’s website.
