Last night in Turbat, 16-year-old Israr Baloch, son of Rashid, a student and nursing assistant at Civil Hospital Turbat who worked to support his family, was tragically shot and killed by Frontier Corps and the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD). Following a tragic blast at Talimi Chowk, Turbat, three passersby known as Waseem Akram, Amir Waseem and Israr Rashid were injured and were shifted to Civil Hospital Turbat for treatment. During his treatment, Israr Baloch was forcibly taken by CTD and Frontier Corps. Later, his family was informed that his lifeless body had been placed in the morgue. When the family went to retrieve his body, intelligence agency personnel forced them to sign an illegal document falsely declaring Israr Baloch as a terrorist. The family refused to sign this fabricated and baseless document, which falsely accused their only son and sole breadwinner of being a terrorist. As a result, the authorities refused to hand over his body until the document is signed. Upon much resistance, the dead-body was then hand-hovered to the family. Israr Baloch had sustained only minor injuries while passing by Talimi Chowk during the blast. However, he was abducted from the hospital. Around 2:00 am when his body was brought back, it bore several signs of torture, including bullet wounds and his dead body wrapped in a Pakistani flag. BYC strongly condemns the cold-blooded murder of Israr Baloch and the baseless labeling of him as a terrorist, which appears to be a deliberate attempt to justify his killing. Witnesses at the scene have confirmed that Israr was merely a passerby at Talimi Chowk during the incident. #StopBalochGenocide

These actions are carried out under the pretense of national security, but their real purpose is to maintain dominance and deny the people of Balochistan their rightful say over their land and future. Balochistan, a region long scarred by violence, now faces yet another wave of brutal military operations. For decades, the Baloch people have endured unimaginable horrors of enforced disappearances, mutilated dead bodies, extrajudicial killings, and the systematic erasure of entire communities. These policies have already crippled the region, and this latest operation promises only more of the same, but on an even harsher scale. A whole generation risks being destroyed not just through the violence inflicted by the state but by the loss of opportunities to grow, learn, and thrive. Children are being raised in a landscape of fear and insecurity, while the youth, robbed of education and livelihoods, are left with little choice but to resist. Entire communities are paralyzed, caught in an endless cycle of poverty, grief, climate catastrophes, and survival. This is not just a military operation; it is an attack on the very existence of the Baloch nation.
