Today, thanks to the Employment Rights Act, the majority of the 2016 Trade Union Act is repealed 🙌🏻.

This means unions can focus on what they do best - organising to win better pay and conditions. Now let’s finish the job and deliver the New Deal for Working People in full.

Today marks a major step forward for workers’ rights.

Looks like we're in line for a new round of Employment Rights Act alarmism.

The Times claims, from a CIPD survey, that 'more than half of businesses expected an increase in workplace conflict.'

In reality, far more employers said each measure would have no impact on conflict or would reduce it.

When I was a lawyer, I fought for the rights of people who had been discriminated against at work. Labour is ensuring workers have fairness, dignity, and opportunity at work.

I was proud to vote for the Employment Rights Act, but we must ensure that bad employers can’t exploit legal loopholes.
