Recently Phil, an @hqip.bsky.social patient volunteer said that "there is a moral obligation to use the data that is already available, for the benefit of patients”. Clearly those who wrote the Plan agree. Watch this space for more from HQIP...

It is an ambitious strategy that asks a great deal of the service, but crucially it acknowledges the role of data, and clinical audit (page 87), in delivering this task.

The @nhs.uk 10 Year Plan is out! No doubt, we will all be spending much of the day and beyond digesting what it means for those of us involved in its delivery - and, of course, for patients.

Data from the National Neonatal Audit Programme (NNAP) (@rcpch.bsky.social) @hqip.bsky.social identified neonatal care providers with below average rates of Deferred Cord Clamping, known to reduce mortality by a third – and saw a 7.9% improvement in use in 1 year.
