I think you get quite a lot of value here from opponents freaking out about Turn 1 Guide and stifling their own development to answer it (which is what you should do against a T1 Guide if your opponent is playing 60 cards), when actually it is pretty medium in the list. Call it 'fear factor'

I can explain. One of the main draws to the list is Starfield Shepherd, giving you 8 total cheap 5-MV creatures to throw around with Bombardiers. To support Shepherd, you need 1 drops. Guide is the best option because it is generically powerful, synergies with Ajani, jumps bomba. Hope this helps.

Not a bad idea. I love doing the Flagstones + Phantom thing in Mono W DnT. Cataclysm feels a bit power crept out in 2026 though, and I'm often happy to get up to 6-7 lands so I can warp my Starfield Shepherds back in when I'm grindin'. Would definitely ruin the day of a Leyline Binding player though

Synergy with Pride & Haliya and searchable with Starfield Shepherd! Not great for answering Chalice though 😅
