Incredibly, a little WD-40 loosened up the chain enough to test the gears and it's still tuned pretty well! This bike feels like it was ridden twice and then left in the shed for several years.

Ok not *perfectly* good. Someone was so desperate to remove the rear brake cable and lever that they CUT it out of the bike.
08.03.2026 04:38 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0The frame of the bike is still mostly unscathed, except for a bit of wear by the shifter cable.
The frame is barely scratched and the tyres have almost zero wear! Who would throw away a perfectly good bike??

New project! Found this gorgeous, neglected, abused beauty in a laneway. Confirmed with a neighbour that it was abandoned. Already looks better with a bit of soap and water but there's lots to do.

Paisley station served Altona North from 1929 to 1985. Rebuilding and reopening it would provide better public transport options for the local community.

"I know, right?! Everyone I rode past looked miserable."
With petrol prices soaring in Australia, now's a good time to get a $5 poncho (less than cost of 2L) and hop on your bike.

Oh yes, get a PO Box. That way ICE can ship you something from your wishlist, track the package and know what day you can pick it up, watch the post office until you leave your house, and then kidnap you AND confiscate the package.

When I have time to finish the job, I'll get that dark patch in front of my neighbour's yard too.
Assume they're ok with their shiny white work van getting dirty because they parked it while I was actively blasting gunk everywhere.
A very dirty footpath. The edges have been power washed, and a hopscotch game has also been etched into the years of built up muck. A blue-painted street library is to the left of the footpath.
Tough to see from this angle, but the hardest square is #8 because you have to balance on one foot while you choose a book from the street library.

That "roses are red" font is so illegible that I'm actually kind of offended.
Why didn't they use it?
One of my favourite things about riding my bicycle anywhere is bypassing all of the car traffic. Cars take up so much time and space!
19.02.2026 04:14 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0One of my favourite things about riding my bicycle home from work is seeing everyone's afternoon vibes. Chill ride home after a long day? I feel you. Going for a few extra calories burned? Enjoy your big dinner, pal. Parent with 2 kids? Heck yeah, get 'em nice and tired before bedtime.

Oh you mean the cold kind.
I dare you to replace one car trip with walking, rolling, biking, or public transit this week.

I adjusted Sparkles' handlebars forward a bit so her knees have more room. I don't think she noticed but her riding instantly became more stable.
It's really fun to see her ride and get more confident.
