Man had a grudge to settle with a third demon prince (semi-recurring character, this one), and was so intent on it that the prince basically had to go underground until it was confirmed Drevan was dead. According to the DM, Drevan went out swinging against demon prince #4 and banished him. (11/11)

Granted, this sentimentality is probably not something that in-lore comes to mind right away. He is perhaps more remembered for becoming a demon hunter of such tenacity that it bordered on autistic hyperfocus, once he was unfettered by the oaths and demands put upon him by the main quest. (10/?)

Due to how the game's events unfolded, Drevan was essentially the last man standing of the party. I realized that he probably would have found a way to commemorate each of his other party members that he either wore or carried with him. (9/?)

When the ranger died, Drevan also became custodian of our late artificer's abandoned gear (previous character of dead warlock's player), since the ranger was the previous custodian after artificer got black-bagged in the middle of the night by the cult we were fighting the whole game (8/?)

Our ranger wound up getting sacrificed for the greater good (had to kill her to deal a significant blow to another demon prince), and Drevan had a fang necklace made from her former animal companion as a memento of her. This one was made worse because they were becoming a thing. (7/?)

We lost our warlock to a Disintegration, and we gathered his ashes into a jar. He didn't really have a next of kin, so Drevan became custodian of the Warlock's ashes. I made reference to the ashes just sitting somewhere in inn rooms as a bit on occasion. (6/?)

The artifact prevented him from using any other weapon as a condition of wielding it, so the trophy weapons (that he still had) became proper trophies.
In the last two story arcs of the campaign, we had some major PC deaths. (5/?)

The demon greatsword was later sold/donated to our Magic Shop NPC. Jury never came back on whether that was a good idea or not, but it never actively came back to bite us, so y'know.
His last trophy weapon was the greatsword of his mentor, which he used until he got an artifact weapon. (4/?)

He was the temporary custodian of a demon prince's enchanted greatsword, since he was the only character at time of acquisition that could effectively use it, and could be trusted to not misuse it. It had some sort of thematic vampirism effect, details are foggy. (3/?)

He had the spear of a fallen Royal Guard and the enchanted scimitar from an assassin acquired from an attack on a duke. The scimitar was shattered by the campaign's antagonist on their first meeting, but he had that scimitar for a good fifth of the game's run time. (2/?)

He had a tendency to collect weapons from adventures early on. Not in a loot goblin "hoarding stuff" way, but I thought it made sense if he took trophies, basically. Trophies that were technically usable if I needed to change combat tactics, but trophies nonetheless (1/?)

Lore-wise, my Paladin/Sorcerer from my old D&D game was a walking museum of his party right up to his death a handful of years before the sequel game takes place.

The closer I get to being done with the current chapter of my writing project, the more I feel like this Squidward.

Tonight in my efforts to get through the Legend of Drizzt series, I finished The Stone of Tymora. Next challenge, the Cleric Quintet.

Adjacent to my previous post, I find myself wondering how much room there is for talking about the characters I’ve made over the years for my writing here on SocMed. I know there’s the stance of “my account, I can do whatever”. Suppose I’m just (maybe over) fretting about muddying the waters.

Sorcha started reading a series recently that essentially reads like bad and repurposed fanfiction.
The few passages she read aloud to me gives me a burning urge to write out of sheer spite.
Don’t know if that’s a healthy motivator or not.
