Divinity being a Larian game and the latter 3 being Obsidian titles will probably give you a good idea of what they're about - Divinity 2 has a *lot* of BG3's voice talent in the booth

Divinity 2 is probably the better start - 1 has a strange mechanic clearly designed for 2-player co-op and 2 is set a long time after 1 so not much risk of missing any story beats
