At last week's #HLPF session on SDG3, our co-chair Dr Magda Robalo emphasized that we cannot solve today’s problems with tools from the past.

To advance #UHC governments must reform global health and financial architecture, grounded in global solidarity and international cooperation.

Health is an economic and developmental priority. Let’s start treating it like one.

Key themes for safeguarding critical gains and overcoming strains in global health financing are:
✅Achieving #UHC through strong primary health care
✅Scaling up innovation and digital health
✅Reforming global health financing architecture in alignment with the Lusaka Agenda

But there are signs of progress, including reduced maternal and infant mortality rates and increased immunization coverage.

Last week, as part of the ongoing 2025 #HLPF, countries took stock of progress on SDG3.
The outlook? Urgent and uneven.
⚠️Less than 10% of SDG3 targets are on track
⚠️2 billion people face financial hardship from health costs
⚠️3.3 billion people live in countries that spend more on debt than health
