I’m voting for the candidate who promises to imprison everyone who makes money insider trading on war.

There are several ways a dictatorship can transition to a democracy. A foreign power assassinating the dictator in an unprovoked war isn't one of them.

We’re all paying for the actions of entitled and uninteresting people who’ve never been told no and want everyone to serve them.

Cuts are happening to so many vital areas at once which is a great way to spread out our anger and make it so people get overwhelmed and miss pieces of all the awful things Tim Houston is doing. It feels so nefarious.

A premier with the largest majority in Nova Scotia’s history treats reporters as opposition members. These availabilities are strictly timed and he’d rather argue than answer questions. This is not being open and accountable to Nova Scotians.

Thing that is important to remember is Saturday is the start of the week in Iran- their weekend is Thursday and Friday- so in order to make sure the US stock market didn’t collapse they waited until the morning on a work day in Iran

Call me a filthy commie but I feel like the best way to "support our troops" is NOT sending them to kill and die in imperialist wars for corporate profit.

The legislature’s committee on public bills will meet Monday to discuss the following pieces of legislation that have cleared second reading. This is the public’s chance to address MLAs on the committee. People can appear by contacting the office of legislative counsel. #nspoli

Trump has launched a war of β€œfury,” to β€œraze” and β€œannihilate,” that has already killed dozens of Iranian girls, reportedly cost the lives of U.S. servicemembers, and will kill many more of both. He is acting without authorization by Congress and flouting international law.

The last time Iran attacked another country was 1856, it surprise attacked the British to drive them out.

But please tell use how a country that hasn't started a war for 170 years is dangerous.

But Israel and the US who have started half a dozen in one year aren't.

let’s stop calling each new outrage a β€œdistraction” from the last outrage and instead call it what it is: a vast ongoing machine of death, kidnapping, graft, abuse, and larceny built to operate on many fronts simultaneously at home and abroad for the benefit of the wannabe god-emperor and his toads

PROVINCE CUTS STUDENT TRANSIT PASS;
PROGRESS ON DEVELOPMENT FEES; TURNING ARROWS FOR MAIN AND DUNBRACK; PAVING PREVIEW
STUDENT TRANSIT PASS FUNDING CANCELLED

The Houston government releashed its austerity budget last week - with more than $300 million in job and service cuts. That number includes $130 million cut from 287 grant programs. These grants supported universities and social equity programs as well as more grassroots initiatives related to food security, foster parents, active transportation and trails, and sport development. One of the grant cuts that will have the widest impact in HRM was the elimination of $1.2 million in funding for the Halifax Transit Student Pass pilot project.
This provincially-funded project provided free transit passes to 30,000 HRM students in grades 7-12.
According to Halifax Transit, more than two thirds of the students used the pass at least once a week to get to school and more than half used it at least once a week to get to part-time jobs, sports and social activities. The project had broad benefits: affordable transportation for teens and their families; and reduced car traffic and congestion on HRM's streets. And there are other benefits of the free transit pass, described in a hearfelt letter I received this week from Teddie, one of my constituents:
"I am a 17-year-old high school student living at home with my family. I work two part-time jobs-babysitting and cleaning-and I volunteer once a week at a daycare in my community.
I was deeply saddened to hear that our bus passes may be taken away.... Of course, we use them to get to school-but they represent so much more than

transportation. Bus passes give students independence. They allow us to get to work, volunteer commitments, extracurricular activities, and home safely. They reduce pressure on our parents, who cannot always drive us where we need to go. Knowing we have reliable transportation gives both students and families peace of mind.
Teenagers today face enormous pressure-mentally, emotionally, and socially. When something as simple as a free bus pass can help build confidence, independence, and opportunity, it should not be taken away. Removing this support sends the message that students' needs and growth are not a priority."
It's disappointing to see the transit pass program cut without notice. But whenever a government leader promises tax cuts, the job and service cuts often follow close behind. You may remember Premier Houston cut the HST by 1% in October 2024 just before the election was called. That tax change reduced provincial government revenues by approximately $250-275 million a year. Last week, not coincidentally, there was a $300 million cut to jobs and services.
A combination of the HST tax cut, big spending on capital projects, and ballooning debt - has led to a credit downgrade for Nova Scotia, the first such downgrade in 30 years. The Houston government now has a $1.2 billion operating deficit, the largest provincial operating deficit in Canada as measured by population. And the beatings will continue until morale improves: the Houston government is planning $622 million in cuts next year, $757 million in cuts the following year and $914 million in cuts in 2029-30.

Our premier doesn’t seem to understand that he isn’t the CEO of a privately held corporation. He’s works for the people of NS and we have a right to question his decisions. It’s appalling to me that he takes his advice from his private lawyer rather than the department of Justice.

Nine months ago, the United States "completely and totally obliterated" Iran's nuclear program.

Tonight, we're attacking Iran to disrupt their nuclear program.

A sizable percentage of this country thinks that's normal.
