Reactive templates make authoring and maintaining much easier than surgically updating the DOM jQuery-style. We don’t have a platform API to do this yet, so it’s a necessary evil.

Quiet Burrow gives you framework-like features without the framework so you can sprinkle in reactivity only where you actually need it. No build steps, no transpiling.

Lit is great, and if you’re using components the underlying engine (lit-html) is shared so this doesn’t add many bytes.

<quiet-file-input> keeps the simplicity of native file inputs and supercharges them, allowing for drag and drop, image previews, and easy programmatic file manipulation.

Create toggle buttons by adding `toggle="off"` to a <quiet-button>.

That's it! When the user clicks the button, the `aria-pressed` state is managed for you and a visible indicator "lights up" to ensure the button's state is clearly visible.

Components such as popover, tooltip, and toast use the Popover API to access the browser’s top-layer, meaning you don’t have to hoist or β€œportal” elements to break out of an overflow container.

All of this just works with no additional effort from the user. ✨

Quiet UI updated their licence. This is a good move overall (less confusing, allows more people to tinker) but I'm also super pro-not-dumping-on-maintainers.

Entitled devs vomit their problems, impatience, and lack of RTFM'ing on maintainers so much it's a wonder anyone does opensource at all.

I knew this experiment might turn out this way, but I'd be remiss to say I'm not disappointed by the culture of shunning software that isn't open source.
