everything in every department sucks: politics, entertainment, the internet at large. It feels like we're just drowning in unrest endlessly

this winter just felt excessively long. I don't know if it's because it got very cold here this year and we got that snow which sucked, but I would like for it to be hot again now please 😅

I don't feel sorry for anyone that gives them money. They've straight up said to people that they do not care and they will not fix or update stuff probably because they know they can't charge for that. Yet people will accept their nonsense like it's normal. They're both awful human beings.

it depends on what kind of cc/mods you go for. Very few strict modders have anything locked behind perpetual paywalls, and unless you are maxis mix or alpha, most maxis match cc is never infinitely paywalled. People lump permapaywallers in with people with excessively long early access windows tho 💁🏿‍♀️

LOL, the thing that bothers me about both Harrie and Felix is not the fact that they make weird screw ups like that (it happens 😅), but the fact that they won't acknowledge or fix them. She has to know that trim hums, and Felix straight has a broken pastry cart in a set that will fuck your cafeteria

Typically, it's from the people who pay into the paywalled stuff. Just look at the people who defend Harrie and Felix's practices. You'll see supporters in their comment sections leaving slick comments like "Just say you're broke" to people critiquing their excessively long early access windows

I think in the early days of early access mods/cc most people understood that and were willing to support. But it somehow went from that to people feeling entitled to compensation and paywalling their stuff for months out. At that point, just quit making cc, babes 🤷🏿‍♀️

correct me if I'm wrong, but before the sims 4, no one charged for cc or mods. I never played with sims 3 much, but sims 1 and 2 cc and mods were always free. Fast forward to sims 4 and now people who don't even play the game are out here making cc and mods trying to collect a quick buck, smh 😑

The marketplace is the peak of anti-consumer and anti-creator, BUT if you're in it for whatever reason, I hope it does for you what you want it to. If you decide to leave the marketplace for whatever reason, you don't have to share why, but don't lie about why

I think most people, myself included, would be open to forgiving or letting bygones be bygones if someone joined and then decided to leave for whatever reason they had. That's fair and very human. It's the dishonesty that's the problem here. My sympathy would've been with her if she was honest.

I mean....if we wanna technical, they own all the CC out there without a marketplace having to be a thing at all. This is just a way of them owning and releasing other people's CC that's up to their "quality" standards

what I do think people should prepare for though is if people leave and go back to patreon full time, expect those creators to start making their items more expensive. I'd imagine we'll start seeing less monthly sets offered for early access and more per item offerings as individual products

I'd imagine one or two things will happen with most creators: there will be creators who shift their focus to the marketplace and will slow or stop patreon releases, and there will be creators who leave and go back to patreon exclusively where they have more freedom and a better profit cut

We don't know all the ins and outs of what these makers have to do to stay a part of the marketplace, but I would be willing to bet the restrictions around quality and how much they must submit to the marketplace each month to stay an active member may make doing both prohibitive
